We have to admit, we’re guilty of this as well. We also like to dress it up a bit, but the reality is that we’ll inevitably get in the way of our success in any endeavor. We can dress it up or down, so that’s why I thought I would share a three-step process for how to build self-awareness using the principles of mindfulness.
One of the best ways to self-awareness is by being mindful. You can use mindfulness to be more aware of your thoughts, emotions and sensations. I have a tendency to go a little overboard with mindfulness. Sometimes I forget to be mindful. I often find myself jumping from one thought to the next. “Oh, I don’t want to say that out loud. I’m not sure if you’re noticing the similarity between this and the previous quote, but we’re talking about being careful about the things we’re thinking and how we’re thinking about them. We’re not talking about being completely mindful in the moment. When we’re not careful, we can be reckless and careless. One way we can be mindful is by being aware of our thoughts and how they are shaping our future.
The first part of this is clear. I see a lot of people, especially in the web, looking at the web and not taking the time to check it out. I’m not sure whether this is actually what it’s trying to do. It could be a simple check function, but that’s just the way it is. You can’t be careless, you can’t be careless. I’m not sure if that is the same reason people will be doing this, but it may be.
I noticed that an article about the game’s time-looping design called “The Road to Never Die” was just popping up. The description is a quote from this article, but I could not figure out why. It’s very clear that the game’s time-looping design was designed to prevent death of people who have died.
Time-looping games are generally designed to prevent death. However, it turns out that in death you might not be dead. The article goes on to say, “the whole point is the player doesn’t die. They can continue playing indefinitely.” I can easily see how that could be true, as the player is actually playing in death, rather than just playing in a different game.
Time-looping games are usually designed to prevent death to prevent cheating. That means that if you die, you’ll lose the game. In other words, the designers wanted you to think you’re still alive but not actually dead. We don’t know if the designers knew that would happen or if they had a plan to make sure you’re dead if you die.
We don’t know, but it does seem like a nice touch to make it so if you die, you lose the game. We do know that if you do die in Deathloop, youll lose your body and everything youve ever known. That’s a little upsetting because not all of Time-looping games have a similar outcome.
